Initially I am doing this for myself and am contemplating whether I should sell the libraries (drums for now). I'm just starting from scratch again literally in a few days, as I've thoroughly upgraded my recording space. See more info here: for the detailed reply! A lot to think about. NI did some pricing reductions some time ago (I think 2 or so years, not sure), so they now allow smaller orders of licenses and lower MSRP of your library, both of which are factors for the licensing cost. Also do be aware if you're going with Kontakt Player, your library is required to implement NKS, which means some scripting, and then tagging all your patches and making audio previews for them, etc. Is your library using Kontakt's snapshot feature extensively? Gotta go with Kontakt Player as snapshots in non-KP libraries is a pretty big hassle for users. Do you want to save costs for creating your library and selling it to others? Full Kontakt. Do you want it hassle-free for users? Kontakt Player. It really depends on a number of factors.
